Belgrade Beer Map
Serbia’s capital, Belgrade, was always the center of Yugoslavia’s beer production. And currently, Belgrade is a hotspot for craft beer, not only in Serbia, but in The Balkans. What started with Samo Pivo bar over a decade ago has expanded into dozens of craft beer bars and brewpubs within walking distance of the main city square, Republic Square. But that’s just the center. There are many neighborhood craft beer bars and, of course, the breweries outside the center.
Besides craft beer bars, Belgrade has some of Europe’s best nightlife, so it is worth visiting the traditional kafanas and splavovi (boat clubs) for the experience. Still, one night of drinking industrial Jelen or LAV Pivo will leave you hurting for something better. After you’ve had your fill of Serbian rakija, it’s best to clear your head with a fresh Serbian craft beer. Unlike much of Europe, bars in Serbia are often open on Sundays.
There are enough craft bars for several pub crawl days. And when you get hungry, brewpubs like Dockers will give you something to eat. Finally, don’t forget, when you visit Serbia always say ‘Cheers’ – Živeli!
If you’ll stay more than 48 hours in Belgrade, click here for the craft beer bars you may miss on the first day.
